Dominoes - does anyone really know how to play?
I don’t. But I do know that the name domino comes from Venetian Carnival masks that are white with black dots, called domini. Domini is derived from a Latin word dominus which means lord or master. The masks are called domini because they resemble French priests’ winter hoods which were black on the outside and white on the inside. Apparently, however, the game of dominoes (which I still don’t know how to play) began in China.
